Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Ruislip

Man with Van Ruislip is committed to conducting business in a responsible, ethical and transparent manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to support efforts to eliminate all forms of modern slavery.

Our Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery

We operate a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and child labour in any part of our business or supply chain. This commitment applies to all employees, workers, contractors, agency staff and suppliers who work with or for Man with Van Ruislip.

All individuals and organisations engaged by us are expected to act with integrity, uphold human dignity and comply with applicable labour, employment and human rights laws. Any breach, suspected breach or complicity in modern slavery is treated as a serious violation of our standards and may result in termination of contracts or working relationships, as well as reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Ruislip provides removals and transport services. Our activities primarily involve logistics, vehicle operations and related support services. While we consider our direct operations to be relatively low risk, we recognise that risks can arise in associated services such as vehicle maintenance, fuel and equipment supply, and temporary labour provision.

We aim to work only with reputable suppliers and partners who share our values and demonstrate a clear commitment to preventing modern slavery. We expect them to maintain transparent employment practices and to cascade equivalent standards through their own supply chains.

Supplier Standards and Audit Measures

We are strengthening our supplier due diligence processes to identify and address potential risks of modern slavery. When entering or renewing arrangements with suppliers, we assess their approach to ethical labour practices and require them to comply with relevant legislation and our zero-tolerance position.

Where appropriate, we may conduct audits or request evidence from suppliers to verify that robust policies, procedures and controls are in place to prevent modern slavery. This may include reviewing their recruitment processes, employment terms, use of subcontractors and arrangements for worker welfare. If concerns are identified, we will engage with the supplier to seek corrective action. Failure to address serious concerns can result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

We encourage all employees, workers, suppliers and other stakeholders to raise any concerns they may have about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business. Concerns can be reported to line management, senior management or through any existing internal reporting mechanisms used within our organisation.

Reports can be made confidentially and will be taken seriously. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not substantiated after investigation. All credible reports will be investigated promptly, and appropriate action will be taken where issues are identified.

Training, Awareness and Responsibilities

We are working to build awareness of modern slavery risks among relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management and recruitment. Responsibilities for implementing this Statement sit with senior management, who are accountable for ensuring that appropriate policies, processes and behaviours are embedded across the business.

We expect team leaders and managers to communicate our zero-tolerance stance and to encourage an open culture in which workers feel able to voice concerns. As our business evolves, we will review whether more formal training or additional guidance is required for key personnel.

Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review

We are committed to continually improving our approach to tackling modern slavery. This Statement and the measures described within it are reviewed at least annually by senior management. The review considers any incidents reported, outcomes of supplier assessments, changes in legal requirements and emerging best practice.

Following each annual review, we will update our policies and procedures as needed to strengthen our controls and address new or evolving risks. This Modern Slavery Statement reflects the current position of Man with Van Ruislip and has been approved by the management, who are responsible for ensuring its implementation and ongoing effectiveness.
